Chase Young has been suspended indefinitely by Ohio State football. How long will we see the star defensive end be held out in 2019?

News broke today of Chase Young being ruled out for the Maryland game in Week 11. There is no word from the NCAA just yet on how long Young will be out for, or if there will be an official ruling. Ohio State is holding Young out of games as a precaution in the wake of the news. Young took to Twitter to try to sort out some of the allegations against him and stated the following:

Young has come on to the scene strong here in 2019. Lifting the Ohio State Buckeyes to the No. 1 team in the country, and getting Heisman talks going. Young currently is sitting at 13.5 sacks, leading the nation. This is a new OSU single-season sack record while the Buckeyes still have four games left to play in the regular season.

The nation has been keeping an eye on Young not only for the incredible season he is having but for his NFL prospects as well. He is considered one of the best 2020 prospects and continues to impress scouts at the NFL level. The mock drafts have the junior defensive end all the way up to No. 1 on the draft board. Ahead of everyone else and most notably the loaded quarterback class that is coming out this year.

Here is a timeline of the events that we know of so far today:

"similar violations can result in multigame suspensions, but that a number of variables — including who the loan came from, how much it was for, proof of repayment and when the school knew of the violation — could play a factor"

The news story is still relatively early and we will be able to sort out the details as we move forward. One thing is for sure, Young will be suspended from the Maryland game and it is unclear whether we will see Young back on the football field for the Buckeyes. All signs are pointing to a minor violation that could hold Young out just a few games, hopefully for all college football fans, we get to see him play once again.
