1. Kyle Trask a model of consistency

Has there been a bigger surprise contributor in the country this season? When the year started, Feleipe Franks was tabbed as the guy who would be able to take that next step at quarterback under Dan Mullen and he would benefit greatly from the second-year head coach’s tutelage but his injury in the Kentucky game seemed to doom the Gators’ season.

Emory Jones was the quarterback almost everyone, including myself, thought would take over for Franks and put the team on his back, but even then, it would be hard to make up for the experience lost.

But it’s been Kyle Trask, a former two-star recruit, who has led the Gators to an 8-2 record.

Trask has been the model of consistency for the Gators and he had yet another solid game against Vanderbilt. Though he did throw two interceptions, he had a strong showing with 363 yards and three touchdowns on 25-of-37 completions.

On the season, Trask now has over 2,000 yards and 19 touchdown passes with six interceptions. Who would have expected this from a former third-stringer?
