Georgia football hosted Missouri fresh off an emotional win over Florida a week ago. What did we learn from the Bulldogs’ big win?

Teams sometimes suffer from hangovers after emotional rivalry wins but that wasn’t the case for Georgia — but maybe for Jake Fromm — as the Bulldogs smacked Missouri 27-0 on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs look like the best team from the SEC East and have a relatively simple path to the title game. If they win out, they’ll play LSU for all the marbles, but they still have to take care of Auburn, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech. They should win at least two and make the title game, but Texas A&M won’t be a complete walk in the park.

Georgia took care of a team it had to on Saturday night, however, and improved to 8-1 on the season with playoff hopes still alive.

What’d we learn from the Bulldogs’ win?

3. Kelly Bryant’s absence doomed Missouri

Let’s face it, Georgia may not have been as dominant if Kelly Bryant was under center for Missouri, but the Tigers ruled him out before this one.

And when he was ruled out, it all but doomed the Tigers. There was basically no way the Missouri offense would be able to make up for the absence of the quarterback. Although Bryant had a rough couple of games against Vanderbilt and Kentucky, he had been impressive before that, leading the Tigers to the top of the SEC East.

Sophomore quarterback Taylor Powell had a rough game, passing for 84 yards and an interception on 10-of-22 completions and the most effective passer was Connor Bazelak who went 8-for-12 with 64 yards. Obviously those numbers aren’t going to be enough to beat Georgia on the road.
