Oklahoma football got all it could handle against the Iowa State Cyclones in Week 11. Here are three takeaways from Saturday’s game.

The Iowa State Cyclones almost handed the Oklahoma Sooners their second lost of the season falling short 42-41 in Norman.

Jalen Hurts had another game with amazing numbers, throwing for 273 yards and three touchdowns while running for 68 yards and two more touchdowns in the win. Brock Purdy threw for 282 yards and five touchdowns against the Cyclones in a losing effort.

Breece Hall led the Cyclones in rushing with 110 yards on the ground.

Oklahoma jumped out to a 35-14 halftime lead and then the Cyclones’ defense bowed up in the second half and didn’t let the Sooner defense breathe. The Sooners only scored seven points in the second half. This gave the Cyclones an opportunity to close the gap on the scoreboard.

After Purdy threw a touchdown pass to tight end Chase Allen, Cyclones head coach Matt Campbell decided against overtime, and went for the two-point conversion to no avail, and the Sooners win a nail-biter at home.

What’d we learn from the Sooners’ nail-biting win?
