3. The culture of belief is real

If you don’t like players like Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy then you don’t like college football. He is the heartbeat of the Cyclones’ football team.

Although the Sooners were up big at halftime, the Cyclones weren’t rattled. You never got the sense that the Cyclones thought that it wasn’t there night or they weren’t able to come back and win the game.

This is all due to the culture Cyclones head coach Matt Campbell has instilled in this program. They don’t get blown out, and they’ve come back from large deficits before. That’s talent, but that’s also culture.

In the first half of the game, they had chances to score, but made critical mistakes. They cleaned those mistakes and made some key adjustments defensively.

They found themselves back in the game and came up just a bit short.
