1. Baylor deserves to be favorite vs. Oklahoma

Having the poise to survive a drama-filled and frantic triple-overtime victory on the road, preserving its undefeated season through nine games, don’t the Bears deserve to be the favored team at home against Oklahoma in Week 12?

To channel Lee Corso: “Not so fast, my friend.”

Sure, the Bears have proven that they can win a game in multiple ways. They outgunned No. 23-ranked Oklahoma State on the road, 45-27. They allowed only 14 rushing yards in a 17-14 win against West Virginia on Halloween night. Against TCU in Week 11, they harried and rushed Max Duggan into three interceptions.

But, this OU squad has some serious firepower, the likes of which the Bears have not faced this season. While it’s true that OU struggled defensively in its 48-41 loss to Kanas State and its narrow 42-41 triumph against Iowa State in Week 11, the Sooners’ offense is second to none.

Jalen Hurts is a quarterback with a national championship pedigree, directing an offense that scores 48.4 points per game (second-best in the nation) and gains an NCAA-leading 587 yards per game. Athletic receivers such as CeeDee Lamb and Charleston Rambo are future NFL talents that can break open a big play anytime.

While Baylor has remained unscathed thus far through a number of ways, OU has the high-powered pieces on offense to justify being an 8.5-point favorite on the road.
