1. No. 19 Texas at Iowa State

This is one of the most interesting games of the whole weekend that isn’t getting as much as attention as it should, due to the “bigger” games going on. Not only is it a big conference matchup that has implications on the Big 12 title game, but Texas is the underdog by a touchdown.

The Longhorns have won the past three matchups as Iowa State’s last win came in 2015 when Charlie Strong was still the coach of the Longhorns. Texas sits at 6-3 on the year and is coming off a three-point win against Kansas State at home. Texas has two conference losses, but still has a chance to make it to the Big 12 Championship if it wins out and get some help with some other games.

Iowa State hasn’t had the year many predicted so far, but the Cyclones have shown glimpses of why they are a dangerous team. They are coming off a one-point loss to Oklahoma and currently sit at 5-4. Their quarterback, Brock Purdy, is one of the best in the conference and gives the Cyclones a chance to win every game.

However, seven points seems like way to many for Iowa State to be favored, even if Texas hasn’t looked as strong as of late. This game should come down to the wire with either team having a chance to win it at the end.
