Baylor football lost a tough one against the Oklahoma Sooners in a monster Big 12 matchup. Could they get a rematch in the title game?

College GameDay came to Waco for a reason. This matchup between the No. 13 Baylor Bears and the No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners was set to be a game for the ages. The expectation, as it is with most Big 12 conference games, was that the this was going to be a offensive shootout.

Despite the Baylor having a better record at 9-0, and being at home, the Sooners were still a 10-point favorite. Initially, it appeared as though Vegas could not have been more wrong. Baylor got out to an early lead and headed into halftime with the score at 31-10.

Oklahoma came out in the second half on fire. They scored early in the third quarter bringing the score to 31-17. Their next drive looked dominant as they approached the goal line. However, their momentum abruptly stopped after a redzone turnover.

Oklahoma bounced back from that hiccup and came roaring into the fourth quarter. Baylor was silent. With 1:45 left in the fourth quarter, the Sooners knocked in a field goal to take the lead, 34-31. Baylor’s quarterback, Charlie Brewer, threw his only interception of the night on the Bears’ final drive of the game, and the rest was history.

Oklahoma shutout Baylor in the second half and took home the victory, 34-31.

Here are a few key takeaways from this Big 12 matchup.
