2. Lincoln Riley’s back to earth

As Lincoln Riley’s teams have found great success these past few years, there has been much speculation about the young coach taking his talents to the NFL. Young coaches like Sean McVay and Kliff Klingsbury are all the fad these days and many NFL executives are experiencing FOMO — Fear Of Missing Out. So, the money and the temptation is undoubtedly present for Riley.

However, this temptation may actually be lower now that the 2019 season didn’t go exactly as planned.

All any competitor wants is a challenge. When things are too easy, people get bored and make a change. This isn’t limited to just college football or sports in general.

Jalen Hurts won’t win the Heisman and the Sooners could very well end up with three or four losses by the end of the year. Given that, Riley still has work to be done in college football. He isn’t going anywhere until he feels there’s nothing left to accomplish.
