1. Barring a meltdown, Ohio State will represent the Big Ten East

Ohio State’s final two games might be the toughest in all of college football. The Buckeyes host Penn State in a battle for first place in the Big Ten East and then travel to Ann Arbor to battle with top rival Michigan. The Wolverines don’t have a shot to win the East this season, but they can ruin the playoff and Big Ten title hopes of the Buckeyes.

Michigan is playing its best football of the season as well, coming off a 44-10 win over Michigan State in Ann Arbor. Since the second half of a loss to Penn State, the Wolverines have been hot.

But Ohio State has to lose both of these final two games to miss out on the Big Ten title game, representing the East division. After taking care of Rutgers with ease on Saturday, it doesn’t seem likely that the Buckeyes will lose a game this season. There’s a reason the playoff committee had them ranked No. 1 a couple of weeks ago.

Penn State will be tough, but Ohio State has what it takes to win comfortable. The same can be said for the Michigan game — there’s no way Shea Patterson plays as well as he did against Michigan State again this year.
