Oklahoma State football mounted a big lead over Les Miles and Kansas, but the Cowboys allowed 13 straight in the fourth quarter. What’d we learn?

Les Miles ventured his way back to Stillwater, but this time as the head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks. The Cowboys gave him a rude welcome back party with a 31-13 defeat.

Mike Gundy’s team mounted a 31-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter and Kansas put together a 13-0 run, leading to the 18-point win. It wasn’t the best finish for Oklahoma State, but it took care of business to improve to 7-3 on the season.

What’d we learn from Oklahoma State’s win over Kansas.

3. Chuba Hubbard did Chuba Hubbard things

If Oklahoma State was a serious playoff contender, Chuba Hubbard may be right there at No. 2 in the Heisman Trophy race. He has looked like the best running back in the country this season and that didn’t change on Saturday, even in a quieter game against Kansas.

The Jayhawks couldn’t stop Hubbard, but he also didn’t run as much as he normally would have. He finished the game with 122 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. He proves he’s the most consistent running back in the country and even an “off game” for him is impressive.

Maybe next year with a more experience core, the talented running back will be in the Heisman race more than just an “honorable mention” which he has been this year.

Hubbard might just be the best running back in college football.
