1. Oklahoma State needs to close strong

In what seems to be a growing trend for Oklahoma State, closing out games strong seems to be an issue for the Cowboys — and that’s concerning.

Rewind back to the Baylor game where Oklahoma State held a 13-10 halftime lead over the Bears and the wheels fell off in the second half. Heck, it was 24-20 Baylor heading into the fourth quarter in Stillwater, but the Cowboys could finish the game strong, losing 45-27.

The same type of thing happened against TCU, but the Cowboys held on. They mounted a 31-17 lead over the Horned Frogs in the fourth quarter, but let them hang around and only won by a touchdown, allowing TCU to score 10 more points in the final frame.

On Saturday, Kansas put up 13 straight points in the fourth quarter to make things interesting. No, Kansas was never going to come back, but the fact that Oklahoma State just couldn’t slam the door shut and complete the shutout was a little concerning.

Oklahoma State dominated the game handily, but the final score doesn’t quite reflect that — and that should be disappointing for Mike Gundy.
