The UCLA Bruins traveled to Salt Lake City to take on Utah football in prime time. Here are three takeaways from the Utes’ blowout win.

This was a weekend teams wanted to makes statements and prove they belonged among the nation’s elite. The Utah Utes are no different.

They came into this game looking for respect, and looking to make a statement they belonged in the conversation. That’s what you want at this point in the season; you want to be in the conversation. There isn’t much football left in the season, yet there’s a lot of football left in the season.

UCLA wanted to prove to the country they are on the rise. The Bruins wanted to prove they could hang with the best in the Pac-12, and they were still in the South division race. There were thoughts of an upset around southern Los Angeles.

The Utes, however, came out clean, efficient and physical.

For the Bruins, though, whatever could go wrong went wrong.

Here are three more takeaways from tonight’s game.
