2. George Holani could be all-time

Boise State has gone through multiple running backs in the 2019 season. The Broncos started Robert Mahone for the first seven games of the season and have given George Holani limited snaps in their first 10 games. In the opportunities that the true freshman running back, George Holani has had, he has effectively run the ball.

Holani has almost 700 rushing yards and is averaging 5.3 yards per carry in just 131 snaps. It is a mystery as to why Holani has not had more snaps in this offense, but everyone could agree that when he is on the field, the offense shifts. Of the great running backs that have gone through Boise State like Jay Ajayi, Ian Johnson, Doug Martin and a plethora of others, Holani looks like a mixture of all of them.

The Broncos should be excited to have Holani on the squad and should be able to find more and more ways to get him the ball. He ran for 10-plus yards a carry against New Mexico and you could tell he was really on a roll. Unfortunately, he was only able to grab seven carries and was a blocker for most of the night. Look to follow Holani’s career as his role expands.
