In a weekend of close calls, the Navy Midshipmen were eliminated from the Group of Five watch in a blowout. Here’s the watch for Week 13.

Welcome to the watch. If this is your first time visiting, this is where we find the team noble enough to represent the realm of  the Group of Five in the New Year’s Six.

This year, the Group of Five representative will play in the Cotton Bowl. Some who joined the journey were found not worthy. Others, like Memphis and Cincinnati, have remained. Still, those who seek the New Year’s Six continue to impress; we see the Men of the Mountains.

This was a week of close calls on the watch. The Bearcats survived in Tampa against the South Florida Bulls. Memphis was tested early by the Houston Cougars and pulled away late. Boise dominated an inferior New Mexico team. Navy has left the watch as the Midshipmen were blown out by Notre Dame and now their watch has ended. Appalachian State rejoined the watch after handily defeating Georgia State.

As we say goodbye to the Midshipmen, and hello to the Mountaineers — again — here’s the New Year’s Six watch. New Year’s is coming.
