2. Defense holds AJ Dillon under 75 yards

There’s no doubt about it, AJ Dillon is one of the best running backs in college football, he just happens to be playing on a team that hasn’t done a great job of blocking with an offense that doesn’t have a ton of elite weapons.

Dillon has been a bright spot in an otherwise forgettable season for the Eagles, rushing for over 1,400 yards and 13 touchdowns on 5.3 yards per touch. He will run into a brick-wall of a defense on Saturday afternoon in South Bend, though.

The junior running back and All-ACC star will have his lowest rushing output of the season, finishing with less than 75 yards on the day. His previous season-low was 76 yards against Clemson and 81 yards against Virginia Tech. He has only failed to reach 100 yards three times this year and this will be No. 4.

Dillon will still have a great year and be talked about as a top NFL prospect, but he is going to have a long day against an impressive Irish defense which has shut down both Navy and Duke in consecutive weeks.
