1. This team has what it takes to beat Ohio State

For years, Ohio State has owned the rivalry versus Michigan. In fact, the Wolverines’ last win over the Buckeyes was in 2011 before Urban Meyer got to town and before that, the last win over the Buckeyes was in 2003.

Ohio State has won 16 of the last 18 meetings between these two teams and the one-sided rivalry has gotten to be a little stressful for the players and especially Jim Harbaugh who has dropped all four matchups with the Buckeyes in his time as head coach of the Wolverines. That 0-4 record has earned him a lot of flak from his own fanbase as well as the national media.

But as the Wolverines trounced an above average Indiana team in Bloomington on Saturday, it was fairly obvious that this Michigan team is different than the one we saw at the beginning of the year which lost to Wisconsin by three scores and more like the squad that nearly completed a second-half comeback at Penn State.

This Michigan team has what it takes to beat Ohio State this season as it is playing its best football probably since Harbaugh took over.

Since that second half against Penn State, Michigan has been on an absolute tear, winning four straight games and Saturday’s 39-14 victory over Indiana was the closest margin in that stretch. This might be the year the Ohio State drought ends.
