1. Notre Dame didn’t quit when things got tough

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have an opportunity to win 10 games for three seasons in a row if they win their season finale against the Stanford Cardinal on The Farm next weekend.

After their blowout loss to Michigan, there were many Irish fans considering this season a bust. The truth is, there is only one national championship and only four teams can get into the playoff. This era of college football places too much emphasis on the playoff. This is the best three-year run for the Irish since the Lou Holtz era.

The Irish have an outstanding record against their rivals — USC, Michigan, Boston College and Stanford — Brian Kelly has improved recruiting and their talent depth has gotten better.

They dominated the Boston College Eagles. True, the Eagles came into this game short-handed without their starting quarterback Anthony Brown. Notre Dame did what you are supposed to do against inferior opponents: dominate. Temper your expectations and enjoy a 10-win and possible 11-win season.
