Oklahoma Football: 3 takeaways from heart-wrenching win over TCU
1. Oklahoma needs to learn how to shut the door
It’s been over a month since Oklahoma last played a complete game. The Sooners dominated West Virginia 52-14 and looked like a complete team, owning the Mountaineers from start to finish.
Since then? It’s been a tale of two performances each week.
The 48-41 loss to Kansas State is still confusing but the Sooners nearly made an incredible comeback in the fourth quarter. They started slow and still nearly won with a late surge, but it was too little too late.
Next, Oklahoma mounted a big lead over Iowa State before the Cyclones came back and made things interesting. The Cyclones were a two-point conversion away from pulling off the upset and it was clear that the Sooners had a tough time shutting the door.
We all know what happened with the comeback win over Baylor last week — another tale of two halves.
And then the Sooners had a tough time yet again shutting the door on the Horned Frogs.
Lincoln Riley needs to get his team to play a complete game because when that happens, the Sooners will be unstoppable.
