Baylor football clinched its first-ever appearance in the Big 12 title game with a 24-10 win against Texas. Let’s overreact to the Bears’ 10th win of 2019.

Baylor moved to 10-1 (7-1) with a decisive 24-10 victory against Texas in Week 13, with the Longhorns’ only touchdown coming in the final seconds of the game. For Baylor, the win was a welcome opportunity to exorcise the negativity of choking away a 25-point lead against OU in Week 12.

Before exiting the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury, Bears quarterback Charlie Brewer threw for 221 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for a team-high 75 yards on 18 carries.

The two teams each finished with exactly 391 yards of total offense and nearly the same number of first downs (Texas with 21, Baylor with 22). Each team also had two turnovers, but the key difference might have been Baylor’s special teams and penalties (70 fewer penalty yards than the Longhorns).

Baylor’s defense forced Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger into a 22-of-37 passing performance, with zero touchdowns and an interception. The Bears sacked Ehlinger five times and pressured him throughout the afternoon.

Here are three overreactions to Baylor’s 24-10 win against Texas.
