The latest College Football Playoff rankings have been released and to no one’s surprise, there’s controversy. Who were the biggest snubs of the week?

Being a College Football Playoff rankings snub doesn’t necessarily mean you should be in the top four, but rather you’re not as high as you should be.

For the three teams on this list, the rankings committee made some head-scratching decisions to slide these teams either down, or in a neutral position, and it makes some waves on Tuesday night when the Week 14 poll was made public.

Who were the biggest snubs of the latest poll?

3. Iowa State Cyclones (No. 22 down to No. 23)

Win and drop? That’s exactly what happened with Iowa State on Tuesday night as the committee apparently wasn’t too impressed with the Cyclones 10-point win over Kansas.

Sure, allowing 31 points to a mediocre Kansas team is shameful, but Iowa State dominated that game for most of the second half and the Jayhawks made it look closer. It was a tough conference game and it apparently led to a one-spot drop.

Iowa State still remains in the Top 25, but is no longer the highest-ranked four-loss team, switching spots with USC who gave up 35 points to UCLA. I’m not sure if that’s a more impressive win, but the committee apparently thought so.

To me, switching USC and Iowa State is not right and if the two teams played today, the Cyclones win on a neutral field.
