The 115th edition of The Game takes place in Ann Arbor Saturday afternoon. The undefeated Buckeyes are 8.5-point favorites over their hated rival.

Ohio State finally received somewhat of a challenge last week against Penn State. After staking a a 21-0 lead early in the third quarter, the Buckeyes made some careless mistakes which led to 17 unanswered points for the Nittany Lions. Ohio State eventually added another touchdown in the fourth quarter and won 28-17. Penn State held Ohio State to their lowest point total this season but still could not find a way to pull the upset.

Michigan lost to those same Nittany Lions back on Oct. 19, but played a great second half in that game with their comeback bid coming up a touchdown short. The four games following the loss in Happy Valley have been quite the turnaround for the Wolverines and they are playing their best ball after four straight victories.

Jim Harbaugh and Michigan have heard it over and over again. Cannot be considered a contender until they get over the Ohio State hump. The Wolverines will not make the Big Ten title game even with a win, but it would be a huge boost to the program. Michigan has only beat Ohio State twice since the turn of the century, with their last victory coming in 2011 in Ann Arbor.

If Ohio State is going to take a loss in one of the next two games, it probably should be against Michigan. They still likely make the playoff with one loss and a Big Ten championship. Michigan’s Shea Patterson must have his best game and the Wolverine offensive line must find a way to at least slow down Chase Young. The Michigan defense is more than capable of slowing down Ohio State’s offense.

This could finally be the year Harbaugh gets it done. It will be close, but Michigan is due for a win in this series.
