The 2019 Egg Bowl has some postseason implications. While Ole Miss football won’t be bowl eligible with a win, the Rebels can keep Mississippi State out.

It’s Thanksgiving, which means that we get to say what we’re thankful for. Family has to be No. 1, good health No. 2 and football is No. 3. The Egg Bowl will grace college football fans with its presence on Thursday night as everyone is recovering from a huge Thanksgiving meal.

During the day, we’ll see plenty of NFL action capped off at night, but Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss will be a nice change of pace because this has the rivalry feel we all need.

This is like two brothers going at it in the backyard, and that’s what makes it a Thanksgiving night must-watch.

What can we expect from Thursday night’s Egg Bowl?

3. Elijah Moore finishes with over 100 receiving yards

The quarterback situation in Oxford is as confusing as any in the country, but that doesn’t mean Elijah Moore will suffer. Coming off one of his best career games, the sophomore sensation will finish the 2019 season strong with another 100-yard performance.

While he won’t finish the season with 1,000 receiving yards because I don’t think he’ll have 185 yards and the Rebels won’t be bowl eligible, this will be a huge confidence-booster heading into his junior campaign.

Moore will have one of the best games of his career, catching 10 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. This isn’t the same Mississippi State defense from a year ago.
