Washington and Washington State football face off in the 112th Apple Cup. No love is lost between these in-state rivals, who has the advantage this year?

Washington State and in-state rival the University of Washington face off in a matchup that people have been waiting for all year. With both teams out of the conference championship equation, now the teams play for pride. There is no better way to settle an in-state bragging rights dispute other than playing head to head.

The Apple Cup will be played for the 112th time in history on Friday afternoon. The game is located in Seattle, Washington this year with the Huskies having the home-field advantage. UW has had a roller-coaster season starting off the year as one of the teams to look for coming out of the PAC-12 but quickly fell behind. The Huskies come into Friday with a 6-5 record are looking for some positives to take into a bowl game.

Washington State has had much of the same season as their in-state rival. High hopes stemming from their first game against Houston where they were able to top the Cougars to falling all the way to 6-5 as well. The Cougars have shown their usual firepower on offense with Mike Leach at the helm. Anthony Gordon has led that charge with almost 5,000 passing yards and 45 touchdowns to his name.

This game has the Huskies as single-digit favorites at home which means anything can happen in Seattle on Friday. When you pair these two together you can just about throw out everything you know to be true and start all over. We should see a fantastic matchup this year with two great quarterbacks going toe to toe.
