Alabama slips to No. 3 coming into this ranking ahead of the Iron Bowl. This is not an indictment of the Tua injury, rather the fact that the Bulldogs will face the Tigers in the conference title game. As you know, this is “get got” season, and the Tide are in trouble in this one. Strange things happen at Jordan-Hare, and the Tigers have one of the best defenses in the country.

Despite Alabama’s defensive shortcomings and injuries this season, Auburn isn’t exactly scary on offense. This one is going to come down to which quarterback makes the crucial play, or the crucial mistake Bo Nix might be a freshman, but he’s played a lot more ball than Mac Jones.

The Bulldogs are the final squad to dip into the ACC for this rivalry weekend. They take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the rivalry with the best name in college football.  The ‘Dogs visit Bobby Dodd in Atlanta for some “Good Clean Old Fashioned Hate” this weekend. This one might be closer than the experts think. The ‘Jackets are playing with house money as there’s nothing on the line for them. Georgia Tech’s playing better and will be prepared. That being said, Georgia’s the better team, and should pull away in the second half.

This weekend, the Tigers don’t play their trophy rivals — thankfully — as they play a growing rivalry game against the Texas A&M Aggies. This game is intriguing simply because the Aggies’ defense has been solid this year, and the Tigers have an undefeated season on the line. It’s fairly unclear whether or not a loss would hurt the Tigers; it would make the SEC Championship Game an elimination contest.

The Aggies have had one of the more brutal schedule in recent memory, and have played everyone tough. It does stand to reason they get one of these tough teams; LSU is the last one, and they are due.
