1. Texas ruled the trenches

The Texas Longhorns won the battle up front. Defensively the Longhorns won the line of scrimmage today. They bottled up the Red Raiders run game. SaRodrick Brown didn’t have a bad day with 86 yards on the ground, but the rest of the team had -15 yards rushing.

Texas Tech quarterback Jett Duffey had a critical fumble trying to avoid a sack when the game was still close. Texas controlled the line all game defensively with the Red Raiders finding few holes to run and Duffey was pressured consistently.

It didn’t help that the Longhorns started to pull away in the second half and forced the Red Raiders to throw the ball and go away from the run. The Longhorns found their run game on offense in this one.
