Washington football hosted the Washington State Cougars in the 112th Apple Cup. Here are three takeaways from the Huskies’ win.

In a game that has the look of big brother and little brother, the Washington Huskies suffocated the Washington State Cougars in the 112th installment of the Apple Cup. If you’ve ever had a big brother, the only thing you ever want to do is beat him. Most times you lose, but every now and then you pop a win against your big bro. This is the epitome of the Apple Cup.

If you define rivalries by state bragging rights this is definitely a rivalry. If you define a rivalry wins and losses, this isn’t much of a rivalry. The Cougars have one win this decade, and five wins in the 21st century.

Today was no different. The Huskies dominated this one on their way to a 31-13 win at home for their seventh win of the season, and their seventh win in a row in the Apple Cup.

Cougars quarterback Anthony Gordon was harassed all game long against a Huskies defense that got pressure with three down linemen at times. The Huskies took advantages of their advantages this evening.

Here are three takeaways from tonight’s game.
