Oklahoma football solidified their case as a playoff contender with a rivalry win in a tough environment against Oklahoma State. What’d we learn?

It only makes sense that a crazy rivalry weekend is capped off with Bedlam which the Sooners won, 34-16.

Oklahoma entered this game coming off three straight tightly-contested wins with real playoff aspirations. Alabama losing earlier in the day kicked the door wide open for Oklahoma to sneak into the final spot if they can close out the season with two wins.

Oklahoma State entered this game also on a hot streak winning four of their previous five games and while they won’t be in a New Years Six bowl, a win over Oklahoma would have felt just as good.

Dealing with injuries, Oklahoma State was lead by their star Chuba Hubbard who entered this game as the nation’s leader in rushing yards (1,832) while placing second in rushing touchdowns (20).

Both offenses came out of the gates hot, trading touchdowns early in the quarter. With Oklahoma up 10-7, they were able to create a turnover which led to a Jalen Hurts receiving touchdown to go up 17-7. Both teams would then trade field goals until late in the third quarter where Kennedy Brooks would run in a 3-yard touchdown to make it a 27-16 game.

Oklahoma later tacked on another touchdown to secure a 34-16 victory to finish the regular season 11-1.

Here are some of the bigger takeaways from this installment of Bedlam.
