3. Kennedy Brooks has been on a tear

Oklahoma’s offense has been a monster all season long, but usually it has been Jalen Hurts and CeeDee Lamb putting up the flashy numbers. Since replacing Trey Sermon as starting running back, Kennedy Brooks has proven to be a reliable workhorse for the Sooners.

In the last four games, Brooks has had 80 carries for 534 yards and two touchdowns. This game was impressive to say the least, as he used good strength and power to control the tempo of this game.

Having a dependable running back is exactly what this Sooners’ offense needs to keep opposing defenses honest. Earlier in the season, they relied on Jalen Hurts to be their lead rusher and that is always a worry putting your quarterback in that situation.

Hurts is still the Sooners’ leading rusher but being able to rely on Brooks to take 20-plus carries a game will only make Oklahoma a bigger threat going forward.
