Baylor football made quick work of Kansas in Week 14’s regular-season finale, defeating the Jayhawks 61-6. Let’s overreact to the Bears’ victory.

And just like that, Baylor football matched a program-best in victories for the season with its Week 14 victory against Les Miles and Kansas. With the 61-6 romp, the Bears have now won 11 games for only the third time in school history.

With more postseason opportunities approaching for wins, this year’s Baylor squad is at the threshold of becoming the winningest in school history under third-year head coach Matt Rhule. The Bears also won 11 games in both 2013 and 2014.

Running back JaMycal Hasty led the Bears with 92 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries. Though quarterback Charlie Brewer wasn’t his most efficient self, completing only 13-of-25 passes for 182 yards, one touchdown, and one interceptions, the Bears were able to spread the wealth on offense. As a team, Baylor completed passes to nine different receivers and rolled up more than 500 yards on offense against the hapless Jayhawks.

Baylor also forced six turnovers against Kansas.

Next up is a date with Oklahoma and head coach Lincoln Riley in the Big 12 championship game. In the matchup with the Sooners, Baylor will look to avenge its meltdown after allowing an Oklahoma program record 25-point comeback in its Week 12 loss.

Let’s overreact to Baylor’s Week 14 victory against Kansas.
