Boise State Football: 3 keys to victory vs. Hawaii in Mountain West title game
Boise State football gets a home game in the Mountain West Championship on Saturday. Will the Broncos be able to hold off Hawaii to hoist the title?
Boise State and Hawaii go head to head on Saturday in the Mountain West Championship Game. The title game will be held on the blue turf for the third time in four years as the Broncos try to secure yet another MW championship. Boise State is also looking for not only a win in the conference championship but an opportunity to punch their ticket to a New Years Six Bowl game.
The Broncos currently sit behind Memphis in the College Football Playoff poll and are just a spot ahead of No. 20 Cincinnati. There have been rumors that the AAC could potentially be a play in-game for the Group of Five (G5) spot in the New Year’s Six bowl but that remains to be seen. A win for Memphis surely means they are in, while a win for Cincinnati would complicate things with a Boise State win as well.
Boise State’s main focus is to control what they can control on Saturday against Hawaii. The Rainbow Warriors have been exceptional in 2019 going 9-4 and shocking the Mountain West. In fact, the Warriors have played so well their head coach Nick Rolovich earned himself Mountain West coach of the year.
The Warriors come into the game with an offense that is unstoppable at times. The old run and shoot method with a no-huddle offense and playmakers that seem to be blurs on your TV screen at times. Boise State will lean on their defense to keep this one close with the Mountain West defensive player of the year Curtis Weaver leading the charge. Look for Weaver to be highlighted all night for the Broncos.
Here are three keys for the Broncos to take home the title on Saturday.
