Boise State Football: 3 keys to victory vs. Hawaii in Mountain West title game
2. Start fast
Boise State has been able to score on many opening drives this season leading to big wins throughout the year. The problem with the Broncos is keeping this momentum alive after the first couple of drives and consistently going down the field and scoring. Hawaii has to travel a long way to Boise and everyone knows of the troubles the Warriors have had on the mainland time and time again.
If the Broncos can get going early with their third-string quarterback Jaylon Henderson leading the charge, they can knock Hawaii out quick. Henderson has come up huge in the last three games in his first starts of division one football and has all the momentum coming into the Mountain West Championship Game. The redshirt senior is playing the last home game of his career and will no doubt have a ton of fire to start the game.
The long-travel mixed in with the last home game of the year means trouble for the Warriors. Boise State cannot allow the Warriors to stay in this game and hang around on the road. The longer they are able to stick around the more confidence will come Hawaii’s way.
