Baylor football lost the Big-12 Championship Game in overtime to the Oklahoma Sooners. Was this win convincing enough for the Sooners to make the playoff?

The Big 12 Championship Game between the No. 7 Baylor Bears and the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners was a rematch from a game played just three weeks ago. In their first meeting this season, Baylor got off to an early 25-point lead. However, the Sooners came back in the second half to win 34-31, which gave the Bears their first loss of the season.

This one was just as tight as the Sooners held on for a 34-31 overtime win over the Bears.

Baylor and Oklahoma entered the conference championship with identical records, 11-1. Oklahoma’s only loss came in the middle of the season when they were upset by Kansas State.

This game was expected to be your classic Big 12 shootout. Neither team came into the match known for their defensive ability. However, because these two teams have already played this year, their offensive explosiveness was dampened — at least to start.

Let’s take a look at how this game unfolded and turned into the Big 12 overtime classic that we all hoped it would become.
