1. Baylor’s playoff dreams were dashed while Oklahoma’s were made

The Big 12’s best friend right now is the Oregon Ducks. Oregon knocking off the No. 5 ranked Utah Utes in the Pac-12 Championship Game opened the door for a one-loss Big 12 Champion to be invited to the College Football Playoff. Of course, this is not guaranteed, for the playoff committee has been inconsistent since its creation.

However, one can only imagine that the obvious decision would to be put Oklahoma in the playoff given a Georgia loss to LSU in the SEC Championship Game.

Oklahoma will most likely have the No. 4 spot in the playoff and have to play either Ohio State or LSU, where they will be the overwhelming underdog. However, if even if the Sooners can pull off the upset in the first round of the playoff, they will likely need to do it again in against whoever they would face in the championship game.
