Who is the celebrity picker for College GameDay Week 15, LSU vs. Georgia?
College GameDay is headed down to Atlanta for Week 15 as LSU plays Georgia in the SEC title game. Who will be the crew’s celebrity picker on Saturday?
The regular season is officially over and that means that College GameDay was forced to pick between a handful of big-time matchups to host Saturday’s show.
It was between the ACC title game between Virginia and Clemson, Big Ten Championship between Ohio State and Wisconsin, the Big 12 finale between Baylor and Oklahoma and the SEC Championship featuring LSU and Georgia. The Pac-12 title game was on Friday so that was out of the question and the Group of Five is rarely featured, especially during Championship Week.
The decision was made and it was a relatively unsurprising one as the crew decided to pick the highest-ranked matchup between two teams fighting for a playoff spot: the SEC title game.
Georgia is ranked No. 4 in the playoff poll and LSU is No. 2. A win for the Bulldogs likely means they’re in and it could mean LSU is clinging on to the No. 4 spot, or the Tigers would be out. A win for LSU would probably knock Georgia out and make room for a team like Oklahoma or Baylor.
This isn’t the time to break down all the scenarios, though. Before LSU and Georgia square off at 4 p.m. ET on CBS, the ESPN College GameDay crew will be in Atlanta previewing the week’s games.
Who will be the guest picker for this one? Since the crew wanted to be unbiased for a championship game at a neutral site, they chose Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band to be the celebrity picker, a native of Atlanta. He appeared on the show before as a performer, but never a guest picker.
Brown seems to be a popular pick with fans of both teams.
Check out all the picks around 11:55 a.m. ET on Saturday morning and see if Brown can top John Goodman’s near-perfect 12-1 record from earlier in the season.
