After a huge season with LSU football, Joe Burrow has capped it off with a Heisman moment in the SEC Championship against Georgia.

What a season it’s been for Joe Burrow. The Ohio State transfer had a solid first season with the Tigers in 2018, passing for 2,894 yards and 16 touchdowns with a sub-60 percent completion rate, but he’s looked like an entirely different quarterback in 2019.

That’s not saying he wasn’t good in 2018, because he was, but he has upped his game tenfold in 2019, capping off his senior season with a perfect record and likely an SEC title win over Georgia.

Heading into the fourth quarter, LSU mounted a 34-3 lead over the Bulldogs and it’s been a completely one-sided affair, but before it got out of hand that much, Burrow had himself the moment everyone has been waiting for: his Heisman moment.

You could point to a number of big plays and call them “Heisman moments” but what Burrow did in the third quarter against Georgia was nothing short of magical.

This play had a different feel to it. Fans took to social media and already dubbed it a “Heisman moment” which basically means a play that can sum up a Heisman season or essentially lock up the award. And this had the feel of Johnny Manziel’s moment against Alabama a handful of years ago.

Burrow evaded pressure and avoided a long sack to give Georgia some momentum, scrambling to his right and throwing a strike down the field for a 71-yard gain.

This changed the game and was the nail in the coffin for the Bulldogs’ comeback effort.
