Clemson and Virginia played for the ACC football title this past weekend. Here are your championship weekend power rankings. Who follows Clemson?

This time of year is always bittersweet. The conclusion of championship weekend ushers in bowl season, and of course the College Football Playoff. However, it also foreshadows the close of the college football season. Which means, no college football until next September-ish. So it is with everything that ends only to begin again.

This was quite the season in the ACC. It has its share of detractors, but “glass half-full” is the mantra here at headquarters.

There were some wonderful stories to be had in the “East Coast Conference”.  First, break out the Cardinals. Scott Satterfield worked wonders in Louisville. He came into what can only be described as a toxic culture at the University of Louisville. Moreover, some of his changes were not well received by some of the players. As a result, Satterfield had over 10 players transfer, leaving the program short-handed. He and his staff soldered on, leading the Cardinals to seven wins and a berth in the Music City Bowl.

We saw the return of Mack Brown and the infancy of the legend of Sam Howell. Speaking about a program with low morale, the Tar Heels were about as low as you can get. Larry Fedora had no desire to be there and his players didn’t want to play for him either. So, a 60-year-old coach took a true freshman quarterback willed an undermanned team to six wins, a near upset of the Clemson Tigers, and a Military Bowl bid. Not bad, kid, not bad at all.

Not only that, we had Pitt Specials, the rise of the Wahoos and redefining the term “Clemsoning”. These rankings will take a look back at the highs and lows of each team, and what’s in store for them moving forward.

So, with all due respect to “The Textile Bowl” or “The Rivalry that Really Ain’t” here is the final edition of the 2019 ACC power rankings.
