Who doesn’t love watching football in paradise? Besides the great scenery, here are three reasons to watch the Boca Raton Bowl.

One of the more intriguing bowls no one is talking about, the Boca Raton Bowl matchup between SMU and FAU makes for some must-see TV.

Here’s why even the casual college football fan should be tuning into this one.

3. No Lane Kiffin for FAU

There are many reasons to tune into the Boca Raton Bowl this year, with most of those reasons being we have two really good teams with some really good players playing. However, we can’t overlook the fact that this will be FAU will be playing without being led by former head coach, Lane Kiffin.

As all our readers know by now, Kiffin is now the head coach at Ole Miss.

Kiffin went 26-13 at FAU with two C-USA championships. He was huge for the program and FAU has been able to take some solid steps forward as a program thanks to what Kiffin was able to accomplish.

While we never want to put too much stock into bowl games, it will be interesting to see how the FAU team plays without Kiffin on the sideline.

SMU is coming off a 10-2 season and are the slight favorites right now. A win for FAU could go a long in keeping the program in the right direction, but regardless the outcome, I expect a close game between the Mustangs and Owls.

Not only will this be the first game without Kiffin, but the first “audition” for the current players to showcase their abilities in front of their new head coach Willie Taggart, who I would imagine would be at the game watching.
