Washington Football: 3 reasons to watch Las Vegas Bowl vs. Boise State
There are plenty of reasons to watch Washington football in the Las Vegas Bowl, but here are three of the most intriguing reasons to check it out.
The Las Vegas Bowl isn’t where Washington expected to be when the season began, especially with Jacob Eason taking over under center, giving the Huskies a premier passing attack in the Pac-12 again.
However, it’s been a disappointing year, but that tough road has led to an intriguing bowl game on Dec. 21. With a team like Washington, you expect it to play as close to New Year’s Day as possible, but this Las Vegas Bowl berth is the earliest for the Pac-12 and it happens to pit the Huskies against the red-hot Boise State Broncos.
Boise State just missed out on a New Year’s Six berth so they, too, are disappointed to a degree, but this should make for a fun game.
Why should you tune in?
3. Only Power Five school in a bowl game before Christmas
There are 10 bowl games that will be played before Christmas Day and Washington is the only Power Five school to play in one of those games.
While Washington did not have the season that they wanted, they still made a bowl game and will get to travel to Las Vegas. The kids will also have a long break for Christmas so even though it is not a “big” bowl game, they at least get done with the bowl game early, play in Las Vegas and face one of the top — if not the top — schools from the Group of Five.
Any Pac-12 or West Coast football fan in general will most certainly tune into this game. It will be one of the later games played in the day on a day that will have six bowls. The 21st of December will get the bowl season rollin even though there are two bowl games played the day prior.
For hardcore college football fans, any bowl game can be enjoyable to watch. However, for those who only keep up with the bigger schools, this game will be a game you will want to tune into unless you want to wait till after Christmas Day to watch bowl season.
