Texas A&M football is set to face off against Oklahoma State in the Texas Bowl on Friday. What guys in maroon and white should you keep an eye on?

The Aggies are set to face off against an Oklahoma State team that will be stronger than they originally thought with quarterback Spencer Sanders and running back Chuba Hubbard both officially playing in this matchup. That doesn’t mean that this team doesn’t have a chance anymore or anything like that, but they will need some guys to step up and make the plays necessary to win.

Who do Aggie fans need to do just that in order for this one to be a successful game?

Nos. 8-7: Jayden Peevy and Bobby Brown, DT

With Justin Madubuike out for the bowl game due to his decision to go pro and skip out, the Aggies are thinner at defensive tackle than they were planning to be for sure. The all-important position against a strong running back will be handed down to Jayden Peevy and Bobby Brown. Both have had playtime so far this season, but Madubuike was the ring leader so to speak.

Of course, yes it will be the rest of the defensive line that is just as important in this one. However, they aren’t down the main member of the unit, so I am not as worried about them. Guys like Tyree Johnson and Michael Clemons, just to name two, will have to keep the pressure on Sanders and not allow the running game to really get going. Anthony Hines and Buddy Johnson at linebacker will have the same job.

Shutting down Hubbard is the main duty to start in this one and it will be the job of that defensive line and the linebackers to do just that, though all eyes will be on Peevy and Brown to replace Madubuike.
