Washington State football tangled with the Air Force Falcons in the Cheez-it Bowl from Chase Field in Arizona. Here are three takeaways.

Styles make fights, at least that’s what they say. Sometimes styles are a complete and utter nightmare for an opponent. This game had both in the balance.

Neither team could adequately prepare for the other during their practice time. Air Force didn’t have the personnel to replicate what Washington State likes to do on offense, and the Cougars didn’t have the personnel to replicate what Air Force does offensively. The contrast of the Cougars pass first Air-Raid versus the Falcons run first triple-option offense made this an interesting watch.

The Cougars came into this game after a sub-par regular season in contrast to their 11-win 2019 season. They lost three games by one possession, and 9-3 definitely looks better than 6-6.

Anthony Gordon set records for pass completions and yards this season despite winning only six games. Who could forget the fiasco that was the UCLA game? The Air Force Falcons, on the other hand, came into this one riding a seven-game winning streak looking for their 11th win of the season.

Congratulations to the Air Force Falcons your 2019 Cheez-it Bowl Champs. Here are three takeaways from the game.
