1. Zach Moss breaks the Alamo Bowl rushing record

Texas ranks a respectable 47th in the nation in rushing defense, allowing 140 yards per game this season. For the most part, they silenced inferior competition and struggled against mightily against the more dangerous rushing attacks they’ve encountered.

Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Kansas all rushed for 200 yards on the Texas defense. TCU went for 162 and Baylor went for 163. They did hold Louisiana Tech, Rice and Texas Tech to less than 100 yards on the ground, but Zach Moss runs a lot more like Chubba Hubbard than he does any of the Red Raider tailbacks. Add to that the lack of a defensive coordinator for Texas and things set up quite nicely for Moss.

The Alamo Bowl rushing record is 240 yards, set by Dan Alexander at Nebraska in 2000. Surpassing that mark would be a career high for Moss, but entirely within reach given his ability and the fuzziness of the Longhorn front seven. Moss has averaged better than 7.5 yards per carry four times this season. If he breaks off a long run or two, the record could be all his.
