Arizona State Football: 3 takeaways from Sun Bowl win over Florida State
1. Arizona State has a bright future
Although he didn’t play his best game, Jayden Daniels did just enough to help lead Arizona State to its eighth win of the season with a 20-14 win.
Daniels completed just 12-of-28 passes for 195 yards and got the Sun Devils into position to kick four field goals. Sure, he would have liked to cap off those drives with touchdowns, but that’s something he’s only going to get better at. He also rushed 12 times for a team-high 36 yards. He is undoubtedly the future of the program and that’s all Arizona State fans need to hear.
While the Sun Devils have an impressive young quarterback, they also have some solid young pieces coming in with the 2020 class, including a couple of four-star receivers for Daniels to throw to.
Winning a game like this when the Seminoles came back in the third quarter and punched the Sun Devils in the mouth was huge for this young team and it shows how far they’ve come under Herm Edwards. He’s done a great job and an 8-5 season after losing Manny Wilkins and N’Keal Harry is huge.
This program is trending in the right direction while Florida State is still trying to get there.
