Wake Forest football’s redshirt junior Jamie Newman has entered the transfer portal. Here are four possible landing spots for Newman.

Per a tweet from his personal Twitter account, Wake Forest redshirt junior quarterback Jamie Newman has entered the transfer portal deciding to use his final year of eligibility elsewhere.

Since coming in for Sam Hartman last season, he’s held the reins as QB1 at Wake Forest and hasn’t looked back. He was the catalyst for the Demon Deacons’ success this season.

Newman had a really good season before injuries to his two primary receivers Sage Surratt and Scotty Washington. Newman completed 61 percent of his passes for 2,868 yards and 26 touchdowns. Newman also contributed 574 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

As a dual-threat quarterback in this era of college football his services will be coveted by several teams this off-season by teams looking for a quarterback.

Newman checks all the boxes as an NFL prospect. He’s 6-4 and 230 pounds and a big time right arm. He’s probably looking to transfer so he can play in a more pro-style offense.

If he were to declare this year and go to the NFL draft, there’s a possibility Newman would go undrafted. He’s probably the fifth or sixth-best prospect this season, so it’s very prudent for Newman to go to a school where scouts can see him in a more pro offense.

Here are some possible landing spots for Newman next season.
