The 2019 college football season is now officially in the books. That means it is already time to take an early look at how the Top 25 will look for 2020.

College football is a sport of endless speculation. Before a season begins there is eternal hope, as teams ponder the possibilities of running the table and landing a spot in the College Football Playoff or one of the New Year’s Six bowl games. Everyone’s slate is wiped clean, and fans have every opportunity to dream big.

This cycle begins as soon as the previous season goes into the books. Programs celebrating bowl victories anticipate a boost in the rankings, while teams that lost their final games of the season are left to downplay the significance of those defeats. The early signing period has passed, allowing fans to dream about how new talent might impact their favorite squads in a positive way.

In that regard, even when it is too early to start looking ahead in earnest it is never really too early to start projecting forward. College football is a news cycle that never sleeps, with something to talk about 365 days a year.

Now that Clemson and LSU have completed the 2019 season with the College Football Playoff national championship game, now is as good a time as any to start looking ahead. Here is how Saturday Blitz sees the preseason polls looking in August. Read ahead for our Way-Too-Early Top 25 projections.
