1. The LSU defense is just as much a part of this win

The LSU Tiger offense, led by Joe Burrow and that elite group of wide outs, was a big part of this win for sure. They outscored Clemson despite being down early by double digits and that is a huge deal. They showed that even though they hadn’t really faced hardcore adversity throughout the season as they continued to blow past opponent after opponent, they were ready for this game and they weren’t too cocky at all.

However, let us give the credit where credit is due to the LSU defense who handed Trevor Lawrence the first loss of his college career. This unit played well against a talented quarterback and shut down his wideouts, keeping the Orange and White under 400 total yards of offense and for the most part, kept Trevor Lawrence off balance- especially in the second half.

They set up against one of the best defenses in the nation in Clemson and they outplayed that unit and won the game for LSU. The defense allowed Joe Burrow to just focus on doing what he needed to do to put the team out in front. That unit clamped down after Clemson came within three and the Tigers didn’t score again. They were a game-changer for this team in this Championship.
