Notre Dame football finished the season with 11 wins, a Camping World Bowl victory and a No. 12 finish in the AP Poll. Here’s the final report card.

The college football season officially ended Monday night with the LSU Tigers winning their first national title since 2007. It’s always bittersweet for the season to end. It always seems as if it goes too fast. This is, however, the best time to reflect on the season individual teams had.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished the season with an 11-2 record. It was their third consecutive double-digit winning season in a row and four in their last five. The Irish culminated a solid regular season with an impressive 33-9 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones in the Camping World Bowl.

Notre Dame performed as most teams in their position would. You look at their wins and on paper, they were better than every team they defeated this year. In fact, they were the favorite in every game they won this season. They lost a close one to Georgia and had their worst performance against Michigan.

There were standout performers on both sides of the ball in South Bend. Ian Book, Cole Kmet and Chase Claypool were some of the outstanding performers on offense. Kyle Hamilton, Alohi Gillman and Drew White were some of the fantastic players on defense.

Here’s a complete final report card on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
