3. South Florida Bulls

The first two teams that make the list are Group of Five programs. South Florida makes the list because of their new head coach former Clemson offensive coordinator Jeff Scott.

There have been several former Power Five quarterbacks that have found success at the Group of Five level. This season, former Texas quarterback Shane Buechele led SMU to 10 wins. Another former Power Five quarterback who found success going down a level was former Arkansas quarterback Ty Storey who led the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to a turn around nine-win season under first-year head coach Tyson Helton.

Brice makes sense in Tampa for several reasons. First, his relationship with Scott. He knows the offense and could be a plug and play starter while freshman quarterback Jordan McCloud develops and learns the new offensive system Scott is installing in South Florida.

Brice also makes sense at USF by exponentially improving the quarterback room. Currently, the Bulls have two-star pro-style quarterback Augie Debiase, three-star Jah’Quez Evans, two-star Kaden Frost and Jordan McCloud, a three-star who was last year’s starter. Chace is better than any one of these quarterbacks. He might not have the physical upside of McCloud or Evans, but he’s more polished and knows the system.

Most importantly, Brice brings a championship pedigree and culture from Clemson he can help instill in a program that finished 4-8 last season.
