Georgia football is looking to finish the 2020 recruiting cycle on a high note and here’s who should be sitting atop the Bulldogs’ board.

Kirby Smart is putting in some serious work before National Signing Day, which includes trying to re-court a player who was already signed to be part of the 2020 class.

The Bulldogs have been one of the top recruiting programs in the nation under Smart and that doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon as he has another top-tier group of guys coming in. Will this upcoming class help Georgia get over that hump and win both the SEC and national titles in the same season? The talent is definitely there and there are still some pieces available.

Who will be on top of the Bulldogs’ recruiting board for signing day?

Zachary Evans was released from his letter of intent (LOI) earlier this month and could still potentially find his way back to Athens, but Kirby Smart needs to be exactly what his last name is. He needs to be smart enough to find a backup plan to replace Evans and Daijun Edwards could be what he’s looking for.

The Moultrie, Ga., based running back may not be as highly-touted as Evans was, ranked as the No. 279 player and No. 21 running back in the class, but he has solid size at 5-10 and 201 pounds. He can run through defenders as well as around them but his speed is slowly catching up to his strength — he runs a 4.81 40-yard dash.

Florida State and Arkansas are also trying to land the four-star from nearby Moultrie and he looks like a Seminole-lean right now, but he’s fresh off an official visit with the Bulldogs.

One final visit to Tallahassee stands in the way of his decision and it could be the nail in the coffin if Georgia’s host wasn’t enough to sway him.
