In 2018, Syracuse football one of the most surprising teams in the nation. In 2019, the Orange were among the most disappointing.

Last season was the best for Syracuse football since 2001 when they also went 10-3. Like the previous time when they encountered a 10-win season, the next season they proceeded to finish with a losing record. The 2019 season was a rough season for the Orange as they finished their season with a 5-7 record.

The Orange were able to get their first taste of success in 18 years, but they could not keep that feeling moving forward. They were projected to win nine games and finish second in the Atlantic Division behind the Clemson Tigers.

Many areas caused them to drop from 10 wins to only five in only one season. One of the most significant factors was the way that the team could not replace players that have departed after the previous season.

Despite the departed players, many factors caused an overall disappointing 2019 season. They reflected from both the offensive and defensive side of the ball from the poor performance and poor coaching.

Here are the three biggest disappointments for the Syracuse Orange this past season.
